This cycling guide is the first published for the major Via Allier route. Its main route crosses the Auvergne departments of Allier, Puy-de-Dôme and Haute-Loire, following the Allier River from Nevers in Nièvre and its confluence with the Loire, to its source in Lozère.
This cycle route is 435 km long, and allows you to enjoy the wonders of unspoiled nature (notably at the Bec d'Allier) as well as the historical and architectural heritage present all along the route (Notre-Dame Cathedral in Clermont-Ferrand, the Randan estate, among others).
