National Geographic Trail Map of Elevenmile Canyon and South Park (Colorado).
Outdoor enthusiasts looking for year-round recreation opportunities in central Colorado will be amazed by the National Geographic Trails Illustrated map of Elevenmile Canyon and South Park.
Created in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and other agencies, this expertly researched map covers, in great detail, the area from the Lost Creek Wilderness in the northeast to the city of Salida in the southwest. Highlighted recreation hotspots include Pike and San Isabel National Forests, Spinney Mountain and Elevenmile State Parks, James Mark Jones State Wildlife Area, the Platte River, and Antero Reservoir.
Whether you explore on foot, horseback, bicycle, motorcycle, ATV, or snowmobile, find suitable trails that will take you off the beaten path and back again. Trails are mapped with mile markers between intersections. Your navigation will be aided by contour lines, elevations, labeled peaks and summits, water sources, a comprehensive road system (including Forest Service roads and scenic byways), and clearly designated areas of public and private land. Recreational features include trailheads, campgrounds, public cabins, interpretive trails, climbing areas, boat launches, whitewater access points, fishing areas, and drinking water. A camping guide lists the campgrounds in the Elevenmile Reservoir and Canyon areas, along with their amenities.
A complete UTM grid is printed on the map to aid GPS navigation.
Other features found on this map include: Antero Reservoir, Elevenmile Reservoir Canyon, Lost Creek Wilderness, Middle Fork South Platte River, Pike National Forest, Puma Hills, San Isabel National Forest, Thirtynine Mile Mountain, and Waugh Mountain.
