Until 2017, the Walloon Brabant, - the smallest of the Walloon Provinces (65 kilometers in its largest width and more than 20 at most, from north to south) - was crossed by four hiking trails, totaling about 166 kilometers.
In early 2018, this is added at once 266 kilometers, and not anyway, since this new route does not have for ambition - like its big brothers "white and red", - to guide the hiker up to at the Semois, or until Liège, Paris, or Boulogne-sur-Mer. Indeed, this gr of country, marked in "yellow and red," proposes to take the tour of the province.
The hiker will find all his happy because, if the cities of Wavre, Nivelles or Jodoigne deserve onto it, many other points of interest line up his career. Among many more, the site of the Battle of Waterloo, the prestigious ruins of the Abbey of Villers, the provincial estate of helecin, the elegant and chapels decorated by Max van der Linden, plus some mills and Imposing farms in square. In the province, however, the most densely populated in Wallonia, the hiker will enjoy the pleasure of often evolving on quiet paths, in hilly trails, along and jumping many streams. Pavers, hollow paths and meadow crosses also appear on the menu. 266 kilometers, it's the business of a dozen days of hiking. Or even because, by its central location, the Walloon Brabant is easily accessible from all over the country and the abundance and frequency of public transport (trains and buses) offer multiple possibilities to cut the course as you please. In addition, since the GRP 127 is a loop, you will be able to undertake it anywhere. But if, like the topo-guide, you start from Wavre, consider caressing the buttocks of the Maca. It will bring you happiness!
