Loop Hikes (RB) on the GR of the province of Namur

The “loop hikes” (RB) offer hikers day circuits based on the famous white and red marked long-distance hiking trails, the GR.
Each Walloon province has a topo-guide offering 15 or 16 RB. This one is dedicated to the province of Namur which will not disappoint walkers as its charms are so varied.
It is in the Namur region that the Meuse reveals all its brilliance. On both sides of the river, rivers, streams and brooks have also carved out a veritable maze of valleys. Here is a whole network to discover in the hollow of the valleys, through yours or on the panoramic ridges.

The authors of these guides have chosen the hikes considered the most interesting. This choice is, of course, subjective. However, it meets certain objective criteria. First of all, the routes necessarily include a section, more or less important, marked in white and red or yellow and red.
They avoid asphalt or concrete roads and paths as much as possible.
Their basic length varies between 20 and 25 kilometers. However, most of the walks are modular, as they very often offer variations and shortcuts.
The walker therefore has plenty of time to compose his or her own itinerary “à la carte”.
Finally, the authors sought variety in the route, alternating between forest trails, panoramic sections, village crossings, cultural sites, etc. Finding a bistro where you can have a bite to eat? This criterion has never determined the design of the loops: even in the province of Namur, these village cafés are becoming rare.
