In 1883, the Vicomte Charles de Foucauld (1858 - 1916) decides to resign from the French army and leave to adventure, braving all the dangers, to achieve the exploration of A country then almost totally unknown, the Cherifian Empire.

Accompanied by the Moroccan rabbi Mardorandy Abi Seror , financing the operation on his personal fortune, he will walk on foot, disguised in Moroccan Jewish, nearly 3000 kilometers from June 1883 to May 1884, Levant In Morocco almost so much ground new as all its predecessors gathered (Charles Maunoir).
