This tear-resistant map from Himalayan MapHouse is part of their series covering all of northern Nepal. The map highlights the main trekking routes north of Kathmandu, including the Gosainkund Trek, the Kangja la - Naya Kanga Trek, the Paldor Trek, the Tamang Heritage Trek, the Bhairav Kund Trek, as well as relevant sections of the GHT Cultural Trail and the GHT High Route. The contour lines are spaced 80 m apart. The route profile shows the Langtang section of the GHT High Route between Syno Jyandan and Tipling.
The cartography on these tear-resistant editions, first published in 2011, is identical to that used by Himalayan MapHouse for most of the maps in its other series, published under the Nepa Maps imprint. The contour lines are spaced 80 m or 40 m apart (please see individual descriptions), with raised shading and colors to show different terrain or vegetation types. The maps show the names of many ranges, glacier peaks, valleys, rivers, lakes, etc.
The main trekking routes are clearly marked, as are some localities along these routes, indicating tourist accommodation and other services. Campsites or base camps and various places of interest are also clearly marked. The maps also show other local trekking trails, which are often variations or shortcuts to the main routes. The maps are not indexed. Latitude and longitude coordinates are shown as margin ticks at 5' intervals.
Unless otherwise stated in its individual description, each map also includes a profile of the main trekking route(s) through its area and provides other relevant information, including distances and stage-by-stage times, on the inside cover.
The maps are printed on thick, sturdy, waterproof, and tear-resistant plastic.
