This topographic map booklet describes two different variants of the Haute Route from Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland: one for hikers and one for skiers. The northernmost route, or walkers' route, shown on the map, runs north from Chamonix and crosses the Alps to Zermatt. The ski route shown on this map illustrates the Grand Lui variant, which is the longer and more technical route that eliminates the road connections of the Verbier and Classic variants.

Although the term Haute Route has been widely used for many multi-day alpine hut-to-hut hikes, the "Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route" remains the original. So whether you choose to strap on skis or hiking boots, the Haute Route is an adventure like no other.

Est ce vraiment une carte ?

Je suis très déçu car ce que j’ai reçu, je n’appelle pas ça a proprement parlé une carte, mais plutôt un livret... et on n’à pas la vue d’ensemble d’un circuit, avec un simple livret (indispensable dans mon metier).
Pourtant l’intitulé de votre article est bien "carte". Je suis vraiment déçue.

Dommage, le document n'est pas en langue française. Je n'ai sans doute pas vu ce "détail" à la commande.

Très pratique

Topo carte bien faite et pratique à utiliser.
Mais attention : sur l'avant dernière étape pour Zermatt, un éboulement a eu lieu il y a quelques années au dessus de Saint Niklaus. L'itinéraire indiqué sur la carte n'est donc plus utilisable ! Il faut passer par la vallée avant de monter plus loin (la fermeture de cette itinéraire n'est indiquée qu'au dernier moment, il vaut donc mieux le savoir en amont, enfin en aval dans ce cas-là...!)
