The first section of the Atlas includes valuable travel information about each of the ten countries. The information about border crossings and top tourist attractions will help you to be well-prepared for your trip and the sections on driving conditions will assist you while on the road.
As the populations, road networks and infrastructures of the countries differ, we have used different map scales in this Atlas. South Africa, Lesotho and part of Swaziland are on a 1:500 000 scale. Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia are on a 1:1 000 000 scale while most of Angola is on a 1:4 000 000 scale.
This atlas is specifically aimed at self-drive travellers. Apart from having reliable maps and being well-prepared for border crossings, the self-drive tourist also needs to know where to sleep, get fuel, buy food, get help in case of an emergency and discover what there is to see.
When looking at the map, you will immediately know if a town has any of these facilities. The maps include town detail like auto repair, banking, fuel, hospital, police, restaurants and shopping as well as camping and lodging.
As protected areas are the highlight of a visit to any country in the region, they have high priority on the Tracks4Africa maps. Details of 462 protected areas are included in this Atlas.ISBN: 9780992183004
